Low-Survival 1883 Philadelphia Morgan Silver Dollar. This early Morgan had an original mintage of 12,291,039. But today as few as 365,000 may survive in mint-state quality. That’s just 3% of the original number! Most were lost through melts or attrition. There are other Morgan issues of the early 1880s where up to ten times as many BUs are estimated to exist.
