Interesting Facts About 1921-1928 Peace Silver Dollars:
-- Only the first 1921 Peace dollar was struck in high relief. When banks complained of stacking problems, later issues were modified accordingly. Struck only by the Philadelphia Mint, the 1921 Peace dollar had the lowest annual mintage in the series.
-- The Pittman Act limited the mintages of Peace silver dollars to the number of Morgans melted in 1918. When the quota was reached in 1928, Peace dollar mintages were abruptly suspended (creating the key rarity of 1928). The series was briefly revived in 1934-1935, with limited mintages.
