The 1921 engraving differs slightly from earlier dies and the “micro” D mintmark was a short-lived experiment. One year later the Denver Mint produced the first D-Mint Peace silver dollar. It had a mintage less than one-third that of the 1922 Philadelphia issue. And today only a fraction of those survive in our Very Fine or better quality. The “D” mintmark appears above the tip of the eagle’s tail. Our set includes both historic issues in clearly detailed Very Fine quality.
