On September 11, 2001, unthinkable atrocities shook our country. As the 10th anniversary of those monumental events arrives, the world remembers and honors those affected. The award-winning Pobjoy Mint presents this memorial coin on behalf of the British Virgin Islands. Shown on the copper-nickel crown are the twin towers soaring above the Manhattan skyline. Appearing in a ribbon below is the simple inscription, "Lest We Forget." The unforgettable date of "11th Sept. 2001" is also inscribed. Surrounding the images are laurel branches in praise of American heroism. A unique privy mark features a dove with an olive branch and the number 10 indicating the anniversary.
