Relatively Affordable 1890-S San Francisco Morgan Silver Dollar
Today this issue is at the most affordable price level for San Francisco Mint Morgan silver dollars in Very Fine quality. Most S-mintmark issues of its era cost a lot more. It’s a tough find in mint-state quality, so there’s added collecting pressure for the limited number of nice circulated coins available. Our lightly circulated Very Fine quality is nicely preserved with clear detailing.
“Affordable Choice” 1891-S San Francisco Morgan Silver Dollar
It was released as the Western Frontier was beginning to close. Huge numbers of U.S. Treasury bags of this issue were later lost in government melts, so it’s a tough find in mint-state quality. In our clearly detailed Very Fine quality or better, the 1891 Philadelphia (no mintmark) Morgan is almost 70% more available than the 1891-S, but generally costs the same. Now pay even less for this nice Very Fine quality San Francisco Mint Morgan.
