Issued in 1992 to commemorate the 500th Anniversary of Columbus’ historic discovery, this striking proof had a limited mintage of just 385,241. A full-length Columbus is shown with
a globe in the foreground and his ships in the background.
The reverse depicts the Santa Maria and the U.S. space shuttle Discovery in a unique split image. Beautiful proof minting with
double-struck frosted engravings and contrasting mirror fields.
