This stirring commemorative was one of eight silver dollars issued to celebrate the 1996 Olympic Games held in Atlanta, Georgia. Its mintage of just 14,497 was only one-third the output of the highest production issue and the lowest of any dollar in the series. The Paralympics, run in connection with the Olympic games, feature participants with physical disabilities. Shown is a blind tethered runner. The reverse engraving includes a pair of clasped hands symbolizing brotherhood and team spirit. Please note that our modern commemoratives are not always available in the original mint packaging.
