U.S. 1996-D Wheelchair Athlete Silver Dollar Brilliant Uncirculated |
|
This eloquent issue had one of the lowest outputs for a non-gold U.S. commemorative coin in minting history. It has the lowest production numbers for silver dollars issued in honor of the Atlanta, Georgia Summer Olympics. And it’s especially scarce in mint-state quality as just 14,497 Brilliant Uncirculated specimens were produced. Over five times as many proofs were minted. Shown is a track and field athlete in a wheelchair with his arms outstretched in victory. Above him are the touching words “Triumph of the Human Spirit. Please note that our modern commemoratives are not
always available in the original mint packaging.
