U.S. 2009 P&D Native American Dollar Pair Brilliant Uncirculated |
|
The U.S. Mint begins a new dollar coin series in 2009 celebrating the contributions of Native Americans to the history of the United States. Each year a unique reverse design will grace the Sacagawea dollar. This first year features the theme of agriculture. A Native American woman is seen in her field of corn, beans and squash. The three crops grown together, known as the three sisters, illustrate some of the efficient agricultural techniques practiced by native people that are still in use today. Native Americans' willingness to share their food crops and knowledge helped the first European settlers survive in the New World. Our two-coin set includes both the Philadelphia and Denver issues in Brilliant Uncirculated quality.
