In 1962, the New Orleans Mint 1888-O Morgan silver dollar was a relative scarcity in the series, while 1903-O BUs were the most prized of all Morgan issues, commanding $1,500 in pre-inflation dollars. Then the final Treasury releases turned up many bags of mint-state 1903-O Morgans. Today experts contend that as few as 160,000 Brilliant Uncirculated 1888-O Morgans may survive, probably even less than the legendary and costly 1903-O (though it remains more scarce overall, including circulated quality). Our Brilliant Uncirculated quality has nice original luster and no sign of wear (some bag marks are present, as is normal).
