U.S. Morgan Silver Dollar 1890-CC Very Fine |
The 1890-CC issue’s mintage of 2.3 million was by far the lowest for that date. A disproportionately small number has survived to our day — the vast majority vanishing in U.S. government melts during both world wars after being stored in Treasury bags of 1,000. Relatively few ever entered commerce in the Old West as the frontier was closing. Our clearly detailed Very Fine
quality is really elusive, but far more affordable than very scarce BUs of this issue.
Diameter 38.1mm, Weight 26.73 grams, Composition .900 silver
