The 1927 Philadelphia Peace dollar had the second lowest mintage in the entire 24-issue series: merely 848,000 were struck. Today it’s estimated that as few as 15,000 may survive in mint-state quality and a very limited number of circulated specimens exist too. There might be fewer than 25,000 in AU quality or higher grades. About Uncirculated coins boast original luster, but show just a trace of wear at highest points of the engravings.
