The U.S. Mint began a new dollar coin series in 2009 celebrating the contributions of Native Americans to the history of the United States. Each year a unique reverse design will grace the Sacagawea dollar. This second year features the theme of government, honoring the Native American practices of equality and democracy. Shown is the Hiawatha Belt, wrapped around five arrows. The belt is the visual record of the peace agreement of the five nations of the Iroquois Confederacy. Our two-coin set includes both the Philadelphia and Denver issues in Brilliant Uncirculated quality. 26.5mm
