This first 1932 issue was specially struck to commemorate George Washington's 200th birthday. It proved so popular with the American public that it inspired the regular series that continues in a revised form today. This first 1932 "200th anniversary" date has remained by far the most elusive in the entire series. Just 436,800 silver quarters were struck at the Denver mint that first year. Today only a fraction survive in the well-preserved Fine quality we are offering.
