About Uncirculated 1926-S Peace Silver Dollar
Lustrous AU quality for less than half our regular price for an average BU...
America’s beautiful Peace silver dollar emerged in 1921, the year that the U.S./Germany Peace Treaty was ratified by Congress, formally ending World War I. Since Congress imposed a quota on their minting, production drastically fell in the mid-1920s. The 1926-S Peace dollar’s relatively large production for the late 1920s makes this issue easily affordable. But its mintage of 6.9 million was still far below the first San Francisco Peace dollar productions. Only a small fraction of original mintages now survive in our near mint-state About Uncirculated quality or better. At $39, you pay less than half our $85 regular price for an average BU. And it’s very little more than our $35 regular price for Very Fine quality, which is two notches below AU.
