 Australia 2006 “Queen’s 80th” Colorized Coin/Stamp Display

In celebration of Queen Elizabeth II’s 80th birthday, the Perth Mint created a new one-year 50 cent piece. Born in London on April 21st, 1926, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is admired and respected worldwide for her devotion to duty and her stabilizing influence. A full-color engraving of her splendid 1953 Coronation portrait by Sir Cecil Beaton dominates the reverse of this gorgeous issue. The obverse is graced with a contemporary portrait of Her Majesty. The coin is mounted on an attractive display card with two Australian stamps honoring the Queen with famous portraits. Both are postmarked with a first day of issue cancellation bearing the date April 19, 2006. The Brilliant Uncirculated coin is aluminum-bronze.
