The 1971-1977 U.S. Eisenhower silver dollar emerged not long after the president’s passing in 1969, reviving the traditional big dollar size. It was issued for commerce in copper-nickel and in 40% silver for collectors. The Eagle on Moon reverse is the Apollo 11 insignia (the U.S. space program began under Ike).
