Oversize "Good as Gold" 1922 U.S. Treasury $10 Gold Certificate
America's big 7 1/4 x 3" horseblanket currency was phased out later in the 1920s. This vintage gold certificate promised the bearer $10 in gold coins "on demand" (any bank would oblige). To reinforce the assurance, the note's reverse side shone in brilliant gold color. Pictured is Michael Hillegas, America's Treasurer during the Revolutionary War. The vast majority was destroyed after recall. Very Good quality.
