This gorgeous .925 sterling silver proof is a magnificent celebration of Celtic heritage. The elaborate interlaced design, created by Irish artist Mary Gregoriy, combines elements ancient and modern. Four metamorphic figures in a cruciform arrangement meet in the center of the coin. Each holds an item that represents the influences of Irish culture; a book, a fiddle, a shovel and a laptop computer. Contrasting with this intricate design is the simplicity of the reverse showing the Brian Boru Irish harp and the inscriptions Eire and 2007. Struck in superb proof quality, this limited mintage 10 euro issue is a beautiful commemoration of Ireland’s heritage.
