This dramatic commemorative issue honors the 50th anniversary of World War II with an engraving of an American G.I. hitting the beach at Normandy on D-Day. On the reverse is Eisenhower's D-Day message and the insignia of SHAEF, the Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force.
