U.S. 1890 “Affordable Option” Philadelphia Morgan Silver Dollar BU:
Even though as few as 2% of this issue’s production survives in mint-state quality today, it’s the only modestly priced BU of the early 1890s. Previous issues that cost the same can be up to ten times as plentiful in this quality. The 1890 Sherman Silver Purchase Act was revoked two years later, leading to the lowest mintages in the series in 1893-1895. Our Brilliant Uncirculated quality has nice original luster and no sign of wear.
U.S. 1890-S “Tough Find” Morgan Silver Dollar BU:
After the first five San Francisco Mint Morgans of 1878- 1882, S-mint BUs become really tough to find. This 1890-S issue is at the most affordable level of San Francisco Morgan BUs in the 1883-1904 span. “S” Morgans from these years typically cost several hundred and even thousands of dollars. Perhaps 1% of the comparatively limited 1890-S Morgan dollar production may survive today in mint-state quality.
