U.S. Morgan Silver Dollars 1884-S & 1899-S Very Fine
“Low Survival” 1884-S San Francisco Morgan Silver Dollar.
Struck early in the historic series, when silver for Morgans was
emerging from fabulous “bonanza” mines of the West, the San
Francisco mintage had one of the lowest productions for the year.
And just 2% of that original mintage is estimated to remain today,
after melts and attrition in this Very Fine quality or higher grades.
Our VF specimens are well-preserved and retain clear details.
“Very Few Remain” 1899-S San Francisco Morgan Silver
It’s estimated that only about 1% of this historic silver
dollar’s original production remain today in BU quality. Those
mint-state specimens, when they can be found, sell for over $500.
That puts added pressure on the remaining Very Fine 1899-S
issues. It’s also cited for being exceptionally well struck. Each
Very Fine specimen we offer retains clear detailing of the famous
