U.S. 2016 Silver 13-Coin Proof Set:
Unlike the regular 2016 proof set, this set features seven 90% silver issues. Included are the five “America the Beautiful” quarters in 90% silver honoring Shawnee National Forest, Cumberland Gap National Historical Park, Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, Theodore Roosevelt National Park and Fort Moultrie National Monument. Also featured are Presidential dollar celebrating Richard M. Nixon, Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan, a Lincoln cent, Jefferson nickel, “Code Talkers” Native American dollar and 90% silver Roosevelt dime and Kennedy half dollar. Silver proof set mintages are always far below the regular proof set’s production numbers.
U.S. 2017 Silver 10-Coin Proof Set:
In 1992 the U.S. Mint began issuing special silver proof sets along with the years regular clad sets. These sets contain 90% silver dimes, quarters and half dollars and have substantially smaller mintages than the year’s regular sets. This 10-coin set features seven 90% silver issues: five quarters honoring Effigy Mounds National Monument, Frederick Douglass National Historic Site, Ozark National Scenic Riverways, Statue of Liberty National Monument and George Rogers Clark National Park, plus the Roosevelt dime and Kennedy half dollar. Also included are a Lincoln cent, Jefferson nickel and “Sequoyah” Native American dollar.
