These issues ended the tradition of circulating U.S. 90% silver dollars that began in 1794 at Philadelphia (then the nation’s capital). Today as few as 36,000 of the 1935 Philadelphia Peace dollar are estimated to survive in mint-state quality; average Brilliant Uncirculated quality retails for $175. But we’ve located a limited number of About Uncirculated specimens, with original luster and just a trace of wear at highest points.
