“Second Lowest Mintage” 1927 Peace Silver Dollar, About Uncirculated
Get lustrous AU quality for this scarce issue for about half the price of an average BU!
The 1927 Philadelphia Peace dollar had the second lowest mintage in the entire 24-issue series: merely 848,000 were struck for circulation. Today it’s estimated that as few as 15,000 may survive in BU quality or above and a very limited number of circulated specimens exist as well. There might be fewer than 25,000 in AU quality or higher in all the world. “About Uncirculated” is a grade just a trace away from mint-state quality. AU silver dollars boast original mint luster like Brilliant Uncirculated quality. The main difference between AU and average BU is just a bit of wear at the highest points of a coin’s engravings — but they cost much less. Our regular price for the 1927 Peace dollar in average BU quality is a much higher $175.
